THE Ford Academy of the Arts (FAA) clinched the Davao Youth Games (DYG) Developmental League 2018 cadet division crown after posting a lopsided 55-24 win over arch-rival Davao Jones Academy (DJA) in the finals held at the Gaisano Grand Citimall SkyGym over the weekend.

Patrick Genargue romped away with the most valuable player (MVP) award after pacing FAA with 15 points while Vincent Josh Ancajas scored 13 points.

Shame Harvey Valindez and Mark Nathaniel Estrellante made identical eight points to help Ford win its second title of the school year.

The feat, according to Ford sports coordinator Moses Mabayao, is not just a reflection of their players’ hard work but also the dedication of their newbie coach Christian Quiamco.

“Happy kaayo ang FAA community sa kadaugan. First time ni coach Christian Quiamco makakuha ug gold as cadet coach. Grabe ang team practices almost everyday ug nagbunga ilang paningkamot. This school year nakakuha na mi ug duha ka title (We are very happy with this win, the first time for coach Christian to win steer the cadets team to a golden finish. Their hard work paid off. The school had won two titles this year so far),” Mabayao said.

Meanwhile, the Crossing Bayabas National High School nipped Samal Warriors, 4847, to place third.

The Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Bulldogs, for its part, captured the juniors division title at the expense of Samal Warriors, 66-54.
