There is a need to empower the local entrepreneurs in Mindanao in a bid to generate economic activity in the island, a business leader said.
Philippine Chamber of Commerce Inc. (PCCI) president Ma. Alegria S. Limjoco said during the 27th Mindanao Business Conference (Minbizcon) on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Big 8 Corporate Hotel, Tagum City that through the empowerment of local entrepreneurs, this will also sustain the business environment in Mindanao.
She said the seminars that have been prepared during the conference will help educate the small and business enterprises that will attend the conference. Ongoing trainings from government agencies and private organizations will also help empower local entrepreneurs.
“We as PCCI has been working to usher in a new wave of commitment to enable full consolidation of PCCI’s startegic framework under prosperity for inclusive business,” Limjoco added.
She also pointed out the importance of grassroot programs to empower Mindanawons who are operating micro enterprises.
“For this we would like to focus where there is public-private cooperation among PCCI’s partners; and this include improving over-all competitiveness to lower the cost of doing business,” Limjoco said.
She also said with the Build, Build, Build program of the government, they expect more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to benefit from this ushering in the “golden age” of SMEs.
