Ate­neo, Am­ces, Ol­fai shine

Ate­neo de Davao Univer­sity (Addu) ruled the se­condary di­vi­sion while Anthony and Mark Ca­va­nis Ele­men­tary School (Am­ces) and Our Lady of Fa­tima Academy, Inc. (Ol­fai) shared top honors in ele­men­tary cat­e­gory of the re­cently-con­cluded Davao As­so­ci­a­tion of Catholic Schools (Dacs) 2018 Sports­fest ath­let­ics com­pe­ti­tion at the Fr. Martinez Sports Cen­ter, Addu, in Matina.

Ate­neo col­lected a to­tal of seven golds, one sil­ver and two bronzes in se­condary boys while Philip­pine Women's Col­lege of Davao got one gold and four bronzes to place sec­ond. Ol­fai had a 0-3-0 medal count for third fol­lowed by 0-2-1 Holy Cross of Col­lege (HCC) Babak and 0-1-1 HCC Bu­nawan.

In se­condary girls, Ate­neo track­sters ac­counted for six golds, six sil­vers and two bronzes while HCC (2-1-4), Ol­fai (1-1-3) and As­sump­tion-Peñaplata (0-1-0) trailed be­hind.

Patrick Di­mailig (se­condary boys 5,000 me­ters), Ana Ju­liana Cu­rayag (se­condary girls 3,000m, 200m), Alexis Randy Cañedo (se­condary boys shot put), Lesly Camilet (se­condary girls shot put), Josie En­rique Mempin (se­condary boys 1,500m), David Fami­lar (se­condary boys 400m), Ye­sha Loke (se­condary girls 400m), Lyle Mar­cos (se­condary boys 200m, 100m), Ian­nah Mae Gen­tal­lan (se­condary girls 1,500m), Abby Mabitag (se­condary boys 800m), Maria Mempin (se­condary girls 800m) and Ni­cole Suello (se­condary girls 400m) won Ate­neo's golds.

Ate­neo also copped the golds in boys and girls se­condary 4x300m re­lay and 4x100m re­lay events.

Am­ces (6-4-3), mean­while, bested Ate­neo (1-4-3) and Ol­fai (1-2-2) in ele­men­tary boys even as Ol­fai ele­men­tary girls team hauled five golds, one sil­ver and one bronze. Am­ces (2-4-4) and Ate­neo (1-2-2) placed sec­ond and third, re­spec­tively.
