GREAT STAFF, GREAT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

It is but another milestone for Beanleaf Coffeeshop Davao as it turns three this year. Manager Ailea Orpiano said she would want to attribute the daily success of the coffee shop to their great-performing staff especially those who have stayed with the management since Beanleaf was still starting up.

One of the loyal staff of Beanleaf Coffeeshop is Knorman Dumail who started working in the coffee shop March 2016. Dumail said before he applied at Beanleaf he used to work as a bartender here in Davao City. He added he decided to work in a coffee shop to enhance his skills and further his knowledge about coffee and how to properly serve it.

“I think I really lasted here in this job because the way the staff is managed by the management is really okay. Even the salary is also okay as well. Aside from that, I also learned a lot in my stay here such as coffee extraction, how a cappuccino is different from a latte and how to serve them,” said Dumail in vernacular.

He added it is very much important that the coffee servers know their coffee very well because sometimes there would be customers who are coffee experts and who know the coffee differences like the back of their hand.

Dumail said some of the most important learning he had with the company is the values such as self-discipline and proper time management. He said the schedule was different with his first job that required him to work at nighttime. Because of this, he was also trained to wake up and manage his time better.

“The best experience I also got from this job is that I was able to make friends with our loyal and regular customers. They have also treated us as ‘barkada’ because they are frequently here. But given that, we also make sure that we still provide them good customer experience and service as well,” he said.

In his more than two years working with Beanleaf, he said he learned more about coffee, food, customer service, and cashiering.

As Beanleaf Coffeeshop celebrated their 3rd anniversary last Saturday, September 15, the first three customers who had a minimum single-receipt purchase of P500 were able to get free chocolate cake. Aside from that, customers who brought three drinks were also able to enjoy one free drink of their choice as well.
