The tandem of Patricia Benares and Kryzle Faith Enrique, who captured the girls traditiona­l team double weapon gold, led the city’s medal haul

Tagum City clinched a total of one gold medal and two silvers in the ongoing Batang Pinoy 2018 National Championsh­ips arnis competitio­n at St. Louis University Junior High School in Baguio City as of Tuesday evening.

Patricia Benares and Kryzle Faith Enrique combined forces to nail the girls traditiona­l team double weapon gold.

Benares and Enrique bested Bacolod City pair Juliane Marie Oberes and Lovely Joy Pabiana and Baguio City tandem Chantal Caithe Rapanut and Princess Angel Orpilla who settled for the silver and bronze, respective­ly.

Tagum's duo of Jonna Lea Colendres and Janne Carla Tecson, however, fell short of the gold and took the silver instead in girls traditiona­l team single weapon event that was topped by Jean Villadar and Cheska Lian Borrero of Bacolod City. The bronze went to South Cotabato's Ellaine Marriane Bayani and Criscel Sondia.

Colendres and Tecson copped Tagum's second silver in girls 7-12 traditiona­l team open category. Bacolod's Villadar and Borrero clinched the gold anew while Baguio City's Natasha Joi Ann Leal and None Evita Mabalot pocketed the bronze.

Tecson salvaged a bronze in girls 7-12 traditiona­l individual open.

Davao del Norte, meanwhile, annexed a silver in boys traditiona­l anyo team event (double weapon) from the joint efforts of Christian Ian Managas and Cyber John Lagula.

Over at the Baguio Athletic Bowl, Mel Joy Gonzales of Davao del Norte clocked one minute and 5.15 seconds to claim the bronze in secondary girls 400-meter run.

Laguna's Sharlaine Saguid (59.98) and Tarlac's Alexandrar­ose Tabian (1:04.16) grabbed the gold and silver, respective­ly. /
