A total of 27 minors were gathered in Philippine National Police's (PNP) Oplan Tambay campaign, which seeks to prevent occurrence of street crimes, on Wednesday a total of 27 minors for breaking the curfew ordinance.

Police Regional Office (PRO 11) Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Marcelo C. Morales said these minors who were rounded up after being found unescorted and were turned over the Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO), eventually they were released to their parents.

Local laws in the city states that minors are not allowed outside their homes from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. This is seen to be a deterring move to prevent these minors from engaging in scuffle or joining gangs.

Aside from that, during the enforcement on Laws and Ordinances, there were also 14 individuals who were apprehended for not wearing shirts or half-naked; 20 for smoking in public places; and 11 caught for drinking beyond cut off time.

Likewise, there were a total of 40 persons who were apprehended violating RA 4136 or Land Transportation and Traffic Code during the conduct of checkpoint with one four wheeled vehicle impounded.

“Police Regional Office 11 will continue to intensify its anti- criminality operations to safeguard the people and ensure the maintenance of peace and order in Davao Region. Lasting peace and tranquility is what we need and in order to enhanced and maintain it, we must be able to continuously work together in order to protect the community and the public from hidden dangers and sudden attack of criminals," Morales said.
