Police nabs brgy chief

A barangay chairman who is listed in President Rodrigo Duterte’s list of Level 2 High Value Target (HVT) was nabbed during the simultaneo­us implementa­tion of search warrants in Davao Oriental on Friday dawn.

In an interview on Saturday with Police Chief Superinten­dent Marcelo Morales said after they were able to complete the case build against some narcopliti­cians, they applied for a search warrant against Barangay Chairman Erwin Barabag at Purok Mansanitas, Barangay Macangao, Lupon, Davao Oriental.

He was arrested after the raiding team recovered from his possession, one unit Cal. .45 SN 625897, inserted with magazine loaded with six live ammunition.

Aside from that, two small sized heat-sealed transparen­t plastic sachets containing white crystallin­e substance of suspected shabu and one elongated heat-sealed transparen­t plastic sachet containing white crystallin­e substance of suspected shabu were seized.

Authoritie­s implemente­d around 2:30 in the morning on October 19 the simultaneo­us implementa­tion search warrants to different individual­s for violation of Sec. 11, RA 9165, also known as the Dangerous Drugs Act, issued by Judge Emilio G. Dayanghira­ng III of RTC Branch 32, 11th Judicial Region, Lupon Davao Oriental.

Aside from him, the law enforcers likewise implemente­d search warrants against Ruth Petiluna, Marjun Generale, Em-em Wenceslao, and Baby Shane Palma, all from Lupon, Davao Oriental.
