Believing in true love, happy ending

- BY A.J. ANTOLIN

When I was a child, probably I was eight and most likely on my 3rd grade, I used to daydream of my own wedding. I do believe that fairy tale stories have contributed much to my daily imagination.

Recently, I witnessed two of my friends exchanging their vows. Jen being a single mother and Nico the breadwinner, these two were an unlikely pair.

When I met Jen, she was my classmate in science class. She is a snob, that was my first impression of her. However, being the friendly person that I am, I found myself talking to and making friends with her.

We were not close friends at that time. She had her own group of friends back then and our relationship was purely as classmates.

When I got into the school paper, that was when Jen and I became close friends. As a close friend, I bore witnessed the challenges she has gone through life.

Nico Jhon, was the man who was silently observing, listening, and feeling Jen’s emotions. He’s the type of guy who can smile all day long. I have always seen Nico as someone who is trustworthy and responsible.

Jen and Nico eventually shared the same office in college, he was elected as Kasama’s President (SSG) and Jen becoming the editor-in-chief of our school paper.

They were a perfect match back in college. Their responsibilities both in their home and school have gave them the opportunity to test the

waters of their relationship, which was not easy. The commitment required to hold it all together is harder than it looked and this is where Jen and Nico fought hard to stay together against all odds.

One thing is sure though, Nico loves Jen and will do anything just to win her heart.

I, Jen, and Nico ended up graduating together. And even after eight years of not seeing the lovebirds we are still close friends.

On October 3, 2018, wedding bells rang and a beautiful bride stepped inside the church as Nico stood by the altar blushing.

Jen and Nico made the right decision to make their love story a success.

Jen and Nico’s love story may not be one that is extraordinary but we can learn from them to continue to hold on because we chose to love.

Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Villanueva!
