The developer seeks to bring their OneFarm app to Mindanao to help local farmers

To entice farmers to directly link their agricultural produce to the market without going through middlemen traders, OneFarm app from Serawak, Malaysia is eyeing to build business partners with Mindanaoan farmers.
BigDex PLT chief executive officer and founder Simon Wong underscored the importance in improving the agricultural sector alongside with technological innovation.
“We want to help the farmers in modernizing the agricultural sector in order to help them in their agricultural practices,” Wong said in an interview on Monday, October 22, 2018 during the Livex Innovation Summit 2018, at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City.
Wong added that the app will also ensure in maintaining food security in the country as OneFarm contain relevant data in updating farmers with the current agricultural production of crops in a place.
“Food security is a relevant issue at hand and a lot of people are already going hungry in the world. If the farmers will know about the trends of the agricultural production then they would be able to adjust on their agricultural processes as well,” Wong said.
OneFarm is also a good medium in providing latest agro-products for farmers. Through the app, users can avail the following search categories: vegetable, fruit, livestock, bio-medicine, seafood, agro-tourism, handicraft, industry machine, and agricultural equipments.
OneFarm envisions into becoming a first choice mobile-based agromarketplace in the Asean.
“Our objective is to promote the micro, small and medium agro-entrepreneur’s crops or product to access to the global market by using the latest big data technology,” Wong said.
He said they are eyeing partners working in the agricultural industry in the city through the innovation summit as they enter Mindanao.
