NO SUBSTITUTE
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio denies rumors on her replacing former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go in the substitution for the midterm elections next year
I believe there is a need for tapang at amalasakit in the Senate
Once and for all, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio shut down rumors regarding the substition issue in the 2019 midterm elections.
At the sidelines of the Davao Light and Aboitiz Foundation’s Lineman’s Training Center and EIM Laboratory turnover ceremony held at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) 11, in Buhisan, Tibungco yesterday, Duterte-Carpio firmly said when asked about the issue: “Dili oi, no, no, no.”
Upon learning that she was rumored to replace former Spe- cial Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, she continued to explain that: “When substitution, pwede lang siya if you’ve come from the same party. I am not a member of PDP, therefore, I cannot substitute for a PDP member, diba?”
The substitution issue came out as the people’s assumption that the lady mayor would run for senatorial post in the 2019 midterm elections. But when the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy came and when she filed for mayoralty post, some of the people pressumed that the lady mayor will substitute Go in the senatorial post.
Meanwhile, Go explained why he is running for senatorial post: “I believe there is a need for tapang at amalasakit in the Senate.”
Senator Aquilino Pimentel III said on October 11 that Go is included in the senatorial slate of the ruling PDP-Laban. /
