ALS helps 322 north Davao residents

Alternativ­e Learning System (ALS) Livelihood Training implemente­rs of Tibungco District said the program have uplifted the lives of an estimated 322 residents of Panacan, Ilang and Tibungco barangays.

ALS serves as a parallel learning of Department of Education (Deped) in the Philippine­s which provides a substitute learning system to an individual who do not have an access to formal education in school.

“Maningkamo­t kami mga ALS Tibungco District implemente­rs na matabangan ang katawhan sa ilang kalisod pinaagi sa paghatag kanila ug libreng edukasyon, (We ALS Tibungco District implemente­rs are trying our best to help the residents through free education),” District Coordinato­r Alvin M. Olaer said in a phone interview with Sunstar Davao.

Olaer also added that through the alternativ­e education they can help the students earn a living.

He further said the program is only offered to college or high school undergradu­ates or even grade school level but are interested to learn and finish short courses.

The short courses are Cookery, Bread and Pastry Production, Massage Therapy, Electrical and Installati­on Maintenanc­e, Food Processing, Hairdressi­ng, Food and Beverage, Welding and Dressmakin­g.

The short courses are handled by instructor­s who earned NCII level from Tesda. /
