The Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Blue Knights opened its campaign on a high note after routing Xavier University (XU) Cagayan de Oro City 87-53 in the Jesuit Athletic Meet ( JAM) 2018 Junior Boys basketball tournament held in Sacred Heart Cebu (SHS) Friday, October 26.

The Blue Knights basically relied on the services of their holdovers including Palarong Pambansa veteran Ion Angeles, Christian Bacalso, Joachim Weill, Isaac Go and Andre Nebria.

But the presence of their rookies Alfred Nicolas, Javen Magbanua, Matt Oribelo, Alfonso Cabdari, Jc Adona, Migoy Castillo, Joaquim Agamon, Jeffler Trasmil and Jed Delos Santos also left significant impact on their debut game.

The Blue Knights, however, were playing against Ateneo de Iloilo University as of this writing.

Today, October 28, the Dabawenyos will face the biggest challenge of their stint as they are pitted against the power-house Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), which has the iconic 7-foot-5 Kai Sotto.

"We are here for exposure and experience," said head coach Jess Evangelio, as they prepare for the much-awaited National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Regional Finals slated in November.

"We will just win every game to reach our goal," Evangelio, who is assisted by Enzo Nitorreda, said. /
