Youth urged to back gov’t
Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go urged some 4,000 youth participants during the launching yesterday of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) program to be one with the government in the fight against illegal drugs and terrorism.
Go, who served as the guest of honor and speaker reminded the participants, composed of student leaders from different schools in the city and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) on the danger of using illegal drugs as he also underscored their key role in achieving a drug-free country.
On terrorism, he cited that Duterte has put in a lot of efforts to strengthen its force to prevent the spread of terrorism and although there were critics who questioned the declaration of Martial Law, nevertheless, he said that it has helped maintain the peace and order in Mindanao and prevented possible spill- over.
During its implementation, contrary to the claim of left groups, he said there were no reported human rights committed by law enforcers in the performance of their duty in connection to Martial Law.
“Makatabang pa ng military sa police visibility kay mangahadlok ang criminal sa mga military nga magbinuang (The presence of military would help in increasing police visibility which is effective in deterring crimes),” he said. /
