Contrary to reports, Hayahay belied that she was a member of Hugpong sa mga Mag-uuma sa Walog Compostela (Humawac). She also denied the claims that she was kidnapped neither by the Armed Forces of the Philippines nor by the New People’s Army.

Hayahay said that she did not recognize her captors because their faces were covered in bonnet.

Earlier, Meggie Nolasco, executive director of Salugpongan Ta’ Tanu Igkanogon Community Learning Center (STTICLCI) acFormer cused soldiers of the 71st Infantry Battalion (IB) as behind the abduction of Hayahay.

Allegedly, she was brought to Surigao and released on October 18. Meanwhile, Hayahay is pleading her daughter, Jeany Rose, who is a teacher of a Salugpungan school in Maco, Compostela Valley to return home after they lose contact of her.

Dayanghirang earlier said that the soldiers of 71st IB were not responsible for the alleged kidnapping of Imelda Hayahay, contrary to the claims of the leftists.
