On the extension of martial law

On behalf of the people of Davao Oriental, I wish to express our full support to the extension of Martial Law in Mindanao. We believe on the earnest intent of the Martial Law to further ensure the safety of the general public.

With the Martial Law being designed to address security threats, our people feel a lot safer; the business sector feel more confident about their investments; and we in the local government units are ensured that our development projects are continuously implemented without impediments and that our peace and development initiatives and efforts will be sustained.

As we continue to place our trust to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police in securing sustainable peace in our country, we express further our profound gratitude to the soldiers and the police force for doing a great job in safeguarding our peace and security.

I urge everyone to continue to be vigilant and cooperate with the authorities. Let us also continue to sow the seeds of peace so we may reap the fruits of peace in the future.

I think that development and progress and also the environmental protection should go together, that is sustainability
