Christmas in Davao (Part 6 of 9)

They say Christmas is best celebrated when home but for this American national, holidays can be enjoyed anywhere in the world for as long as you are with your loved ones.

Robert Johnson, 60, who grew in Arizona, USA is spending his Christmas in Davao City with his Filipina wife Cyril Luarez-Johnson and her family.

“I totally feel at home here during the holidays. I have many friends and family here and always feel welcome and appreciat-

ated. Filipinos are the best hosts in the world,” the American real estate investor shared.

Robert has been coming to the Philippine­s for about 12 years and he learned to love the Filipino way of celebratin­g Christmas.

He said it’s always a pleasure to experience Christmas here because everyone gets in the spirit of the holiday season. He also loves the Filipino way of caroling and decoration­s which he described as “fun and blessed.”

“I totally feel at home here during the holidays. I have many friends and family here and always feel welcome and appreciate­d. Filipinos are the best hosts in the world,” he said.

He believed Christmas is a very special time of the year for close family and friends to bond and celebrate faith.

For the coming Christmas and New Year, Robert wishes for all of his family and friends to be healthy and prosperous this upcoming year.

At present, Robert is building a house in Davao City. He fell in love with the place because of its diving sites in Samal and Talikud Island. He is a member of Davao Reef Divers Scuba Diving Club. /
