Yel­low rain­fall warn­ing in Davao

A yel­low rain­fall warn­ing was alerted for Davao City yes­ter­day, Jan­uary 11.

Based on the Face­book post of Davao City Dis­as­ter Risk Re­duc­tion and Man­age­ment Of­fice, the yel­low warn­ing level means that com­mu­nity aware­ness is needed and flood­ing is pos­si­ble in low-ly­ing ar­eas and near river channels.

How­ever, in the prov­inces of Davao Ori­en­tal, Com­postela Val­ley, Davao del Norte, an orange warn­ing has been posted. This means flood­ing is threat­en­ing in low-ly­ing ar­eas and near river and channels and land­slides in moun­tain­ous ar­eas.

Di­gos and Santa Cruz in Davao del Sur and Malita in Davao Oc­ci­den­tal will only ex­pe­ri­ence light to mod­er­ate rains.

Mean­while, in the re­cent FB post of DRRMO, res­i­dents in Sa­bang in Ta­mu­gan, Barangay Callawa, DDF Vil­lage in Man­dug, Jade Val­ley in Ti­gatto, Purok 20-Sangi­lan­gan in Barangay Maa, Purok Lop­zom at El Rio Vista in Brgy 19, Purok 8 Mus­lim Area in Maa, Matina Grava­han, Santo Niño-Ban­kero­han, Purok 9 San Rafael in Maa, Si­tio Camella in Brgy 9-A, Brgy 76-A-Bu­cana and other barangays such as 10-A, 9-A, 8-A, 5-A, 2-A, 1-A, 40-D and 76-A are re­minded to mon­i­tor the river level for pos­si­ble flood­ing. /
