- BY JENNY MOLBOG-MENDOZA mendoza.jenngrace@gmail.com

Dabawenyos, Abreeza Mall has a lot in store for you to achieve your 2019 fashion goals!

For a fashionista, it is always a breeze to find the most exciting and trendy pieces in a nearby shopping destination.

This year, the Davao City-based Ayala mall brings everything which the international fashion authorities have identified as the latest trends. These include the sparkle, fringe, silk and satin, tie-dye, tight pleats, neon, Bermuda shorts and waterproof outerwear. Of course, the mall’s tenants also have different pieces of the Pantone’s 2019 Color of the Year - living coral. Together with the Davao Fashion Design Council (DFDC), Abreeza Mall brought on the runway the Outline Fashion Forecast 2019 recently.

The event featured a parade of this year’s trendy looks courtesy of its merchants - Calliope, Esprit, Chimes, Gingersnaps, Gap, Gap Kids, Great Kids, Giordano, Lacoste, KidSports, Mags, Marks & Spencer, Mango, Mango Kids, Mango Man, Nike Athletic Club, Original Penguin, Onitsuka Tiger, Plains & Prints, People Are People and Sneaker Club.

After the retail fashion show, DFDC’s widely acclaimed designer-members showcased their own designs. Egay Ayag, Aztec Barba, Edgar Buyan, Dodjie Batu, Emi-Alexander Englis, Bamba Limon, Wyndell Mira and Benjie Panizales owned the runway with their innovative, glamorous and well-constructed designs.

The show has proven once again the world-class creativity and ingenuity of Davao’s homegrown designers. Thus, DFDC’s outgoing president, Aztec Barba, was recognized during the event for leading the group that has been championing the indigenous culture. It was then announced that Dodjie Batu is taking over in leading the group to further heights in their journey. Congratulations to you both! And thank you as well for serving the fashion industry unselfishly!

Meanwhile, mall-goers seen wearing any of this year’s fashion trends were featured in the mall’s social media accounts. They were also given gift certificates from the mall’s fashion merchants. So, if you want to be fashionable, just visit Abreeza Mall and be overwhelmed with the numerous options each of the stores inside offers.

(Special thanks to my favorite fashion photographer, Jowe Posadas, for the photos!)
