As part of its expansion in different regions in the country, the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) was launched here in Davao City yesterday, February 26, 2019, at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) grounds.

Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and I-ACT Task Force Chief Manuel Gonzales said during a press conference yesterday that I-ACT serves as a one-stop-shop for enforcers against traffic violations.

He said I-ACT Region 11 will further intensify operations against illegal parking, illegally operating public utility vehicles and terminals within the areas of Davao City and the Provinces of Davao Del Norte, Davao Del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Compostela Valley.

It also seeks to address traffic woes and other road problems in the region.

Gonzales said that I-ACT was formed based on the pronouncement of President Rodrigo Duterte to curb traffic congestion.

This is the first time that they launched it here in Mindanao.

In December 2018, they already did the same in Metro Cebu after it was re-launched in September 2018 in Metro Manila.
