72nd PAL Interclub ongoing

- IMEE GARCIA

Iam feeling the 72nd PAL Interclub vibes! First day of the seniors competition was last Wednesday, February 27. Yesterday, was the second day.

Good news. Well, for me, at least. Just like with Lanang Golf & Country Club, where the golf course is gone, but the former members deciding to continue participating in the PAL Interclub, the Davao City Golf Club former members also decided to continue participating in PAL Interclub even if their course is already closed.

I was not sure if they were going to send a team, so I decided to wait until the final list of teams was out. Lo and behold, Davao City Golf Club is in the list. Yehey!

Team classifications for PAL Seniors. Four teams will be competing in the Championship Division, namely— Canlubang Golf, Cebu Country Club, Del Monte Golf Club and Luisita Golf Club.

Apo Golf Club is in the Founders Division. Rancho Palos Verdes is in the Aviator Division. Davao City Golf Club and Lanang Golf Club are in the Sportswriters Division.

On day 1, Apo Golf Club played at Alta Vista, while Lanang Golf, Davao City Golf and Rancho Palos Verdes Golf played at Club Filipino.

Today, Day 2, Rancho Palos Verdes, Davao City Golf and Lanang Golf will play at Alta Vista, while Apo Golf Club will play at Club Filipino.

A little bit of background info. Last year, the tournament was held in Bacolod. Only three teams were in the Championship Division, namely— Canlubang Golf, Luisita Golf and Del Monte Golf. Canlubang Golf emerged as the team champion.

And, FYI, last year, in the Sportswriter Division, Rancho Palos Verdes emerged as team champion. Congratulations once again!

This year, let us hope all of our local teams win big again. Bring home the bacon, guys. We are all cheering for you.

The Davao City Golf Club former members also decided to continue participating in PAL Interclub even if their course is already closed.
