The surprise drug test was conducted after the flag raising ceremony.

Over 945 job order employees of the local government of the Island Garden City of Samal were subjected to random drug testing on Tuesday, February 26, at Multi-purpose Gymnasium Peñaplata, Samal District.

It was a surprise drug test which was conducted right after the flag raising ceremony attended by regular and job order employees of the local government and national agencies.

Police multiplier and Task Force Samal were included in drug testing. The activity aims to promote a drug-free workplace to the local and national agency.

This is the continuous effort of the city functionaries in fighting against illegal drugs and support to the Duterte’s administration campaign known as “Rehabinasyon” that envisions the Philippines to be a drug-free country and to ensure a better future for Filipino families and youth.

It was initiated by City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Cadac) functionaries in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and in coordination with Philippine National Police. Clodito V. Cañeda, Provincial director of PDEA, and his team manned the mandatory drug testing with the assistance of selected personnel from the City Health Office.
