Security personnel sendoff for ‘Araw’


Davao City Police Office (DCPO) conducted a sendoff ceremony for security personnel who will be deployed during the celebratio­n of the 82nd Araw ng Davao yesterday morning, March 1.

“Today, once again, we send off our security for the Araw ng Dabaw 2019. Our partnershi­p in terms of cooperatio­n and inter-operabilit­y will be tested with the days ahead,” DCPO Director Alexander Tagum said in his message.

He also challenged those deployed to provide security, protection and be of service not only to Dabawenyos but to local and foreign tourists as well.

Tagum said that the security personnel will be deployed to ensure that everyone will enjoy and experience what is good and what is best in the city.

Meanwhile, Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) deputy head Angel Sumagaysay relayed that City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) officer-in-charge Generose Tecson said CTO relies on the security cluster for a safe and secured 82nd Araw ng Dabaw celebratio­n.

Sumagaysay added, “Dako ang expectatio­n that we can manage the peace and order. We can manage all the activities from day one up to March 31 (We are expected to manage the peace and order).” He also said that security forces deployed in different areas should be able to respond to any emergency as they are trained through simulation exercises.
