TEACHER NABBED FOR BOMB JOKE

She alarmed management and customers of a fastfood restaurant along San Pedro Street

A teacher was arrested along San Pedro Street, Davao City yesterday, March 1, due to a bomb joke.

Based on the report from San Pedro Police Station (PS2), the suspect was identified as Marilou S. Abunda 25, female, teacher and a resident of Purok 8, Brgy. Cabantian, Davao City.

Authoritie­s said that at around 6 p.m. Abunda entered a fastfood establishm­ent located along San Pedro Street, Davao City.

During the conduct of bag inspection of the guard, Abunda said "bomba" that alarmed the customers of the food establishm­ent and prompted the management of the restaurant to call the authoritie­s.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director police colonel Alexander Tagum said in a phone interview yesterday, March 2, that the suspect is now under the custody of San Pedro Police Station while waiting for the case to be filed.

The penalty imposed by the law for this is no joke. You can get imprisoned for five years plus the P40,000 fine.)," Tagum said.
