A fake dentist was arrested in Lanzona Subdivision, Matina, Davao City on Thursday, February 28.

Philippine Dental Mindanao chairman committee against Illegal Practicing in Dentistry doctor Carlos Capitan II said the suspect was identified as Vilbert Alladin Alboroto.

In a video posted by Capitan on Facebook before the entrapment operation, Alboroto was taking an impression on the patient's mouth to make a denture.

The entrapment operation, which happened around 6 p.m. Thursday, was conducted by Philippine Dental Association (PDA)-Davao City Chapter with City Mayor's Anti-Scam Unit and Davao City Police Office (DCPO)- Investigation Detection Management Bureau (IDMB).

Capitan said they already filed a case against Alboroto in court on March 1 for violating the Philippine Dental Act of 2007.

He said that as of February 28, their team already arrested 12 fake dentists. Three were already convicted. The other nine cases are still undergoing trial.

"They have to stop it. We will continue with our campaign and we will get them one by one with the help of our law enforcement agencies particularly the NBI, Davao City Police Office-IDMB together with the Mayor's Office AntiScam Unit," Capitan added.
