More projects for Hedcor’s communities

- /PR

LOCAL advancements are within arm’s reach for Manolo Fortich as Hedcor turns over their generation shares after a year of hydropower operations in the province. What makes it even better is the streamlined process for project implementation through the revised Energy Regulation (ER) 1-94.

The generation shares--a centavo collected for every kilowatt-hour generated by Hedcor-- will now be directly remitted to the host communities to implement different projects such as electrification and livelihood programs & activities.

From the year’s worth of renewable energy generation, Hedcor is estimated to turnover P3.5 million worth of shares. These shares will be divided to the host barangays, IP groups, and the province, among others.

During the MOA signing, Hedcor’s President and COO Carlos Aboitiz took the chance to emphasize the importance of partnerships in order to reap success.

“As always, we ask for your support to keep our plants running at all times. The more we run and produce clean energy, the more funds are available for ER 1-94 projects,” Aboitiz shared. “What’s good for us is good for you, and what’s good for you is good for us. So let’s work together for our respective communities and to lift Bukidnon as well,” he added.

On top of the projects funded by ER 1-94, Hedcor also regularly conducts CSR activities, in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation, to further its goal of advancing communities. This is Hedcor’s way of giving back to the locals who have continued to safeguard its facilities throughout the years.

Hedcor is a run-of-river hydropower arm of AboitizPower. Out of the 22 hydropower plants that Hedcor operates, two are located in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Hedcor has a total generating capacity of 277.36 MW of Cleanergy.
