No injuries in resto fire

NO one got hurt in a fire incident at a restaurant in GMall of Davao in JP Laurel Avenue, Davao City at past 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021.

All the customers were immediatel­y advised to vacate the mall.

In the Facebook Live of one Carlo Barabad, it shows that the firefighte­rs who responded in the area immediatel­y sprayed water at the restaurant where a heavy smoke was coming from.

At 11:45 a.m. the firefighte­rs declared fireout. Meanwhile, GMall released a statement on the same day saying that the mall is “now safe and open”.

“Today, one of the restaurant­s outside of GMall of Davao experience­d problems with their chimney. A fire broke out but thanks to the immediate response of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Fire Volunteers and our Safety Team, we had the fire under control in less than 15 minutes. Fortunatel­y, no injury or harm was reported during the incident,” the statement read.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), however, has not released their initial report regarding the incident as of press time.

It can be recalled that one of the restaurant­s in GMall experience­d the same incident some time ago. /
