THERE are about 5,000 housing units for government workers in the Davao Region under the Government Employees Housing Program of the National Housing Authority (NHA).

Among these housing projects include Madayaw Residences in Bangkal, Davao City, Blue Farm in Biao Escuela, Davao City, Ciudad de Dahican in Mati City, Maresca Homes in the Island Garden City of Samal, Xavier Heights in Catalunan Grande, Davao City, Balai San Agustin in Panabo City, and Kapyaan Heights in Digos City.

Guesting at Habi at Kape Media Forum held at Abreeza Ayala Mall, Atty Alfer John Alcaraz OIC district 1 manager of the NHA said these housing projects are being patronized by government workers baring that only 300 units remain in Davao City. As of today, there are already 1,000 units being reserved for the whole region.

He added that they are adding 1,000 more units in the Kapyaan Heights in Digos City and hundreds more in St. Michael’s in Panabo.

“Hopefully marami mag apply at ma-occupy na nila para makapagbukas kami ng bago (many will apply and they can occupy so that we can open new sites),” Alcaraz said.

A typical two-story duplex unit of a government housing has a floor area of 60 square meters with a lot size of 80 square meters. It features two bedrooms, two toilets and baths, living area, dining area, kitchen area and open area for garage.

Those qualified for our government employees housing program are permanent government employees and OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers).

Interested qualified applicants can go visit the NHA website or visit any NHA offices.
