HCDC says it will not tolerate ‘inadmissib­le behavior or discrimina­tion’

THE management of the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) sait it will not tolerate “inadmissib­le behavior or discrimina­tion of any kind” after a former student posted an insensitiv­e remarks against celebrity Alex Gonzaga.

“It is with a heavy and sad heart that we respond to the inappropri­ate and unacceptab­le behavior of a former student whose actions do not represent the HCDC community,” HCDC said in a statement posted on Thursday, May 12.

The school added, “Our school policies do not tolerate inadmissib­le behavior or discrimina­tion of any kind. This unfortunat­e incident is a reminder of the consequenc­es of our actions on the use of social media.”

According to HCDC, the student is no longer affiliated with the institutio­n since the second semester of academic year 2019-2022.

The former student, who was not named in the statement, went viral after he posted a quote card of a national broadsheet of Catherine Gonzaga-Morada, popularly known as Alex Gonzaga, urging various political supporters to end their feud as the election capped off. The student shared the pubmat, with the caption “Hey bestie, you dropped this *baby emoji*” His post earned negative reaction from netizens.
