DOH-Davao reports 373 Covid-19 admissions in Davao Region as of May 15

THERE are currently 373 Covid-19 admissions in Davao Region as of May 15, 2022, according to the latest Covid-19 Case Bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) - Davao.

This was an increase of 40 Covid-19 admissions recorded as of May 7.

This progress resulted in healthcare utilizatio­n in the region of 24.9 percent or 50 ICU beds occupied out of 201 available in total and 24.7 percent or 273 non-ICU beds, out of 1,106 available, are occupied as well.

Around 6.17 percent or 23 admissions out of the total 373 are tagged as severe and critical admissions.

DOH-Davao also reported 32 new Covid-19 cases regionwide from May 9 to 15, 2022, five of which were tagged as severe and critical cases while logging an average of five daily average cases. Seven Covid-19 deaths were also verified during this week.

In Davao City, Covid-19 Task Force Dr. Michelle Schlosser said during a radio interview on May 18 that the city currently has 14 active cases and zero recent deaths as of May 15.

Schlosser said the majority of the 14 active cases are admitted into hospitals or at the temporary treatment and management facilities (TTMF) in the city.

“Naga padayon gihapon ta (We continue to) monitor but we are hoping dili na n siya madungagan (it won’t increase),” Schlosser said. She explained how those Covid-19 positive patients who do not survive are usually unvaccinat­ed and tagged as severe and critical cases.

In terms of vaccinatio­n accomplish­ment in the Davao Region, 71 percent of the 4,397,683 target population is fully vaccinated, which is equivalent to 3,124,315. (Read full story on sunstar.com. ph/davao) /
