60IB, Laak LGU conducts people’s organization summing-up
THE 60th Infantry Battalion (60IB) led by Lt. Merrill Sumalinog, Commanding Officer of 60IB together with the Local Government Unit of Laak headed by Mayor Antonio L. Libuangan facilitated the conduct of People’s Organization (POs) Summing-up on May 31, 2023.
The said activity aims to discuss, present and sum up all the activities and programs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), local government and national agencies that can be beneficial to the People’s organization in order to make sure that these POs will sustain and become self-reliant.
Vice Mayor Mark Anthony S. Libuangan attended the activity in which he commended the effort of the 60IB especially the Charlie Company for their efforts in maintaining the peace and order of the municipality through monitoring and extending interventions with the help of LGU and partnered agencies.
He further laid out the programs of the government that can help the AFP to realize their programs and plans such as providing funds in order to conduct different trainings, giving financial assistance to the friend rescued, and many more.
Moreover, the heads of line agencies/units also elaborated their functions, controls, programs and services to help the respective POs and to properly address their issues and concerns.
Present also in the said activity were Lt. Rodrigo G Latonio Jr, Battalion Task Force Gabay Chairman; Captain Sandy B Atienza, Operation Officer; Sangguniang Bayan Member Hon. Christopher Jovita, Committee on Peace and Order; Mrs. Virgencita F. Elmido, Laak People’s Organization Federation President; and Municipal Local Government Operations Office (MLGOO) Jane Mardi Melendres of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
