RW 95.1 FM: 18 years of news, entertainment and music to the countryside

two months on air in 1995, DWRW, branded as RW 95.1 FM, a radio station owned by Radio World Broadcasting Corporation then and renamed into Central Luzon Broadcasting Corporati on now, a unit under the Laus Group of Companies had its literal baptism of fire and ash.

Almost 20 feet of Lahar came cascading from the slopes of Mount Pinatubo on October 1, again threatening to obliterate nearby towns of Pampanga li ke Bacolor, Porac and San Fernando from the map.

RW FM 95.1 instantly held ground and became the voice of information and calm for thousands of Cabalens who are still reeling from the devastation of the first Pinatubo Eruption four years earlier.

18 years after, RW FM 95.1 is still at it, holding fort the number one position in listenership whi l e cont inuing to keep our Cabalens and Ka- Rehiyon informed, educat ed and ent er - tained on-air with music, commentaries and shows that define our r egion and the Kapampangan Culture in particular.

Many times adjudged as the hands-down Best Provincial Station in the country, RW 95.1 also conquered established Manila-based radio stations after it bagged the Country’s Best FM Radio Station in the 16th KBP Gol den Dove Awards besting four nat ional stations like Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Love Radio 93.1 and Monster Radio RX 93.1. In 2011, your countryside radio was hailed as the Best Provincial FM Radio Station champi oni ng three other radio stations including Monster Radio BT 105.9 in Cebu, DWOK 97.5 FM in Naga City, and DWGV-FM 99.1 in Pampanga.
