Paulo, LJ end relationship

-

Count Paulo Avelino and LJ Reyes as the newest addition to the list of showbiz celebrities who have broken up.

Months after keeping the public guessing about the status of their relationship, Paulo Avelino confirmed that he and the mother of his young son have broken up.

Paulo said that his status is now “single and complicated.”

“Complicated because, as you all know, I have a son. Ayaw ko na rin magbigay ng specific date, pero medyo (matagal na),” he said in a press conference for ABS- CBN’s newest teleserye “Honesto” on Thursday, October 24.

Paulo said their breakup was a mutual decision, and it doesn’t keep him from seeing his son.

“Sinisiguro ko na meron akong oras para sa bata. Kapag wala akong ginagawa, I try as much as possible to spend it with him.”

Paulo also denied rumors that he was rushed to the hospital because he attempted suicide.

“'Yung statement na binigay ng manager ko (Leo Dominguez), actually, iyon na rin ' yung sinabi ko sa manager ko. It’s not true. First of all, I’m here. And nung pumutok ' yung balita, I was working. Nagulat din ako. Nagising na lang ako, may tumatawag sa akin. (I said), ‘Andito lang ako, natutulog.’”

Paulo admits he sometimes feel lonely, but not to the point of being depressed.

“Siguro, normal naman iyon sa tao na nalulungkot, sumasaya. I wouldn’t call it depression. Pero, I would call it as something na normal na pinagdadaanan ng isang tao. Sabi nga nila, time heals. So oras lang talaga, oras to think about things.”

Is he ready to fall in love again?

“I wouldn’t rush it. Pero kung ibibigay, kung may darating at kung mararamdaman ko, bakit hindi?”

Meanwhile, the issue of honesty cropped up in connection with Paulo’s new show, “Honesto,” where he plays the father of the little boy who plays the title role.

“I’ve been aloof answering questions. Hindi naman ako nagsisinungaling, pero I’m a very private person. I just want my personal life away from the public, as much as possible,” Paulo said.

“Honesto,” which starts airing on October 28, also stars Eddie Garcia, Raikko Mateo, Janice de Belen, Angel Aquino, Nonie Buencamino, Joel Torre, Melissa Ricks and Joseph Marco.

“The project is very timely because everything’s that’s happening now pero we would not limit it sa gobyerno natin. Kasi kumbaga sa personal lives natin ay ang dami nating kasinungalingan there are lot of situations that we need to be honest and the people around us, like sa family at work. Kumbaga para maturan ang mga bata ngayon. So as they grow sana makuha nila yung value ng honesty,” Paulo said.
