The New Rib Eye Restaurant

- ARNEL P. SAN PEDRO

THE AREA along Don Aniceto Gueco Avenue, in Balibago, Angeles City used to be a bucolic access road leading to the old Angeles Tollway of the North Luzon Expressway. Residents of Barrio Pandacaqui and Magalang town and visitors to the city also pass through the roadway because it will take them directly to the heart of th e Balibago business d is - trict.

Even when the Loc a l Government of Angeles City had decided to relocate the City Hall to its current location near the Marquee Mall from the now Angeles City Museum, the locals asked why locate the City Hall in a remote area? Until the Marquee Mall cropped up near the City Hall and changed everything. Business picked up and transport services developed new routes to and from the Marquee Mall. High rise real estate development now also crops up near the mall.

The high density of vehicular traffic along the Don Aniceto Gueco Avenue and the Pandan Road meant only one thing – developments shaped up in the area.

Last Friday, the new Rib Eye Restaurant had its soft opening along the Don Aniceto Gueco Avenue near Marquee Mall. The restaurant used to sit near the Angeles Casino or the popular address along Angeles City residents -- 1219 MacArthur Highway, Balibago. There used to be an acoustic bar called “1219” back in the early 80s. That “1219” acoustic bar became Rib Eye Fine Dining while another restaurant called “King Fisher” cropped up alongside it.

For a time, Rib Eye Restaurant operated along the First Street near the SM Clark but it had to relocate in its present location along the Don Aniceto Gueco Avenue in its bid to accommodate more loyal customers.

Last Friday during the soft opening of the new Rib Eye which now boasts of a 600- seating capacity Function Hall, loyal and walk- in customers came in droves to experience the culinary expertise of the Rib Eye. The new Rib Eye Restaurant which has a wide parking area is now accepting reservations for weddings, birthday celebrations, Christmas parties and so forth.

The famous Rib Eye Restaurant’ s “bibingka” is still being served . I t was widely replicated but the “bi bingka” of Rib Eye Restaurant is still the best in Angel e s City i f not the whol e of Pampang a province. Tr y the “Tr i ple Cheese Bibingka” or the “Pandan Bibingka” and expe rience the di ffe rence.

Try the pasta, the lamb steak, the beef salpicao, the “sisig”, the Rib Eye steak and more – and see why Rib Eye tops all restaurants in the city. The Rib Eye Restaurant is now back in business for its loyal customers. Be there on the grand opening on November 16 and splurge in the gastronomic offerings. Through the years, Rib Eye Restaurants is still one of the best restos in Pampanga province.

The tourists passing through the Clark International Airport should make a brief stop at the new Rib Eye Restaurant and experience authentic Kapampangan culinary delights with an admixture of American food preparations.
