CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga - A 43-year old man was shot dead and another was seriously wounded when shot by motorcycle riding criminals (MRCs) along the road in Madapdap Resettlement Center in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Monday night.

Superintendent Henry Flores, chief of police of Mabalacat, identified the fatality as Rolito David, 43, a resident of Bacolor Extension C, Madapdap Resettlement.

Police identified the wounded and undergoing treatment at Saint Raphael Medical Foundation Center in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat as Antipola Regala, 58, also a resident of the resettlement.

Flores said the two victims were walking along the said road when the suspects on board a motorcycle blocked their path.

The back rider alighted and at gunpoint grabbed the bag of Regala but the latter grabbed it back.

This prompted the suspect to shoot Regala twice in the body and fell on the pavement, the report said.

David tried to prevent the suspect from harming Regala but was instead shot three times on the head, Flores said.

The suspects then fled towards an unknown direction carting away the bag of the victim.

The victims were taken to Feliciano Hospital and then transferred to Saint Raphael Medical Foundation but David expired while undergoing treatment, the report said.

Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Recomono, Jr., Pampanga Police Provincial Director, has ordered Flores to identify and arrest the suspects. (Ric Sapnu)
