AlayLakad continuesto raisefundsfor OSYs
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The City Government of San Fernando has successfully conducted its annual Alay Lakad 2014 yesterday.
Delegates and participants from different schools in the City of San Fernando united as one as they walked for a cause early in the morning to raise funds for out-ofschool youth (OSY).
Spearheaded by Mayor Edwin D. Santiago and this year’s Executive Committee, the city mayor joined the starting walk point in Tagulud Del Pilar together with city department heads and other employees
With pride and dignity, San Fernando is very much privileged to have sustained Alay Lakad. I believe that educated Fernandinos contribute a lot for the betterment of the city,” Santiago said during the program proper at the Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex.
Themed “Manimuna Kayanakan para king Kinabukasan,” the awarding of Mr. and Ms. Alay Lakad 2014 also took place at the event in the grade school, high school, college and professional level.
The youngest participant award was given to a 5-year-old Fernandino followed by the awarding of oldest participant handed out to a senior citizen aged 81. The most colorful delegation was awarded to San Lorenzo Ruiz Center of Studies and Schools. Pampanga High School brought home the biggest delegation award for this year.
Present during the walk-for-a-cause were City Councilor Harvee Quiwa, executive committee chairman Gil Pamandanan, co-chairman Ramon Cabral, Jr., Alay Lakad Foundation president Dr. Lourdes Javier, executive vice president Alfrito Mah and the rest of the committee and city government staff.
The aim of Alay Lakad is to support more underprivileged youth through educational scholarships to deserving individuals. — CSFP CIO
