ANTO TO­MAS - First ter­mer Mayor Johnny Sambo of this town re­cently dis­closed his as­pi­ra­tion to bag the De­part­ment of In­te­rior and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment's (DILG) Seal of Good Lo­cal Gov­er­nance (SGLG) award next year.

Sambo made the state­ment dur­ing the re­cent con­fer­ment of the SGLG to out­stand­ing cities and mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties in the re­gion where Sto. To­mas was cited as Post-Com­pli­ance Passer.

Sambo ac­knowl­edged the unity and co­op­er­a­tion of his fel­low public of­fi­cials and other agen­cies of the gov­ern­ment for at­tain­ing such pres­ti­gious award de­spite the size of their mu­nic­i­pal­ity.

He stressed that such recog­ni­tion man­i­fests that the lo­cal gov­ern­ment is re­ally work­ing to pro­vide in­clu­sive de­vel­op­ment for the mu­nic­i­pal­ity and its peo­ple.

How­ever, Sambo ex­pressed his hopes that they will win the ac­tual SGLG which is ac­com­pa­nied by the Per­for­mance Chal­lenge Fund (PCF) amount­ing to P3-mil­lion for win­ning mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties.

He said that the PCF will be a big help in fi­nanc­ing projects which will up­lift the lives of his con­stituents and pro­vide con­ve­nience to tourists and in­vest or s.

To achieve their mis­sion, the lo­cal chief ex­ec­u­tive said that he will urge his col­leagues and gov­ern­ment em­ploy­ees to work harder and be more pro­duc­tive
