Nada Te Turbe: A recollection concert
This Christmas season, the Mirabilia Dei Foundation, Inc. acknowledges the wonderful blessings that continue to shower on their music ministry. Their choir, strings ensemble and rondalla have been remarkable in the past year. Some of their scholars are now music teachers and regular members of the Manila Symphony Orchestra. One of their members had also been chosen to join the Philippine delegation in this year’s Asian Youth Orchestra. The construction of the School of Liturgical Music is still on-going. The school’s donated site was used to be a rice granary which was later been idled for some time in Betis, town of Guagua.
And to mark the end of this momentous year on a high note and to set the hearts right for the celebration of the birth of Christ, they’ve called upon long-time partner, the Holy Rosary Parish, to help in organizing an advent recollection concert and Christmas serenade entitled Nada te Turbe (Let Nothing Trouble You). The title was taken from the poem written by Saint Teresa of Avila. Translated from Spanish to English, it wrote: “Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing make you afraid. All things are passing. God alone never changes. Patience gains all things. If you have God you will want for nothing. God alone suffices.”
This unique fusion of an advent recollection and a Christmas concert will surely be characterized by a soulful medley of prayerful reflections and heartfelt songs rendered by the exceptional Mirabilia Dei Children’s Choir and String Orchestra. Also, prayerful reflections are expected as these will be led by Rev. Fr. Francis F. Dizon, Rev. Fr. Enrique M. Luzung, Rev. Fr. Eisen John M. Cruz and Rev. Fr. Marianito B. Mallari. This special event will take place this 5th of December, 6 in the evening, at the Apung Mamacalulu Shrine in Angeles City.
For next year, MDFI plans to bring to different parishes and schools not only their music but also their vision, its inspirations and aspirations as well, hoping to ignite in us all the passion and love for Kapampangan liturgical music and inspire us all to work for the musical education of gifted children in the service of God during liturgical services in our parishes.
I hope their music goes viral in our hearts. May the sounds of the Christmas season be of peace, joy and love that are profoundly felt and generously shared.
