Lazatin pins hopes on anti-criminality program
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— This city’s Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin has expressed high hopes that the recently launched anticriminality program involving the grassroots community will help in the government’s anticriminality campaign and aid in curtailing criminal elements.
This as the Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Illigal na Droga or MASA MASID was launched by the Department of Interior and Local Government at the City of San Fernando recent l y.
It was attended by Barangay captains, barangay officials and staff, peace and order committees, and inter faith sectors.
MASA MASID is a barangay – based anticriminality, anti-corruption, and anti-illegal drugs program which encourages multisectoral partnership to intensify the spirit of volunteerism at the community level.
Its purpose is to heighten community involvement by mobilizing the support of local stakeholders, volunteers, civic organizations, faith-based organizations, and the private sector in the fight against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption.
“Let us all be involved in the movement by participating and cooperating in fight against illegal drugs, corruption and criminality,”Lazatin said, adding that community vigilance is essential in creating a more proactive community.
