CSF villages join Christmas decor tilt using recyclable materials
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Some 14 private subdivisions here have proven that celebrating the Yuletide Season with seasonal decor need not be expensive as they joined this year’s Inter-Village Christmas Decor Competition using recyclable materials.
The participants include Malumeme Homeowners Association in Barangay San Juan; Paralaya Street and Unisite Subdivision in Barangay Del Pilar; Saint Dominic Corinthian Subdivision, Dolores Homesite, Safer Village and Villa Barosa I in Barangay Dolores, San Miguel 1 and Perpetual Heights Subdivision in Barangay Sindalan; Fortune Ville Phase 3 and Rose Ville Heights Subdivision in Barangay Panipuan; Fortune Ville Phase 1 in Barangay Baliti; Don Ramon Village in Barangay San Agustin; and Essel Park Home Owners Association in Barangay Tel abast agan .
Anchored on the theme “Pasku ning Bayung henerasyun,” main entrances of the said villages shall be decorated using recycled materials and the Parul Sampernandu as a distinctive feature.
Mayor Edwin Santiago said “the city holds this activity to promote the bayanihan spirit among Fernandinos. This year, we have also encourage the participation of youth in the decorating process so that they may
express their creativity and innovative Christmas ideas.”
The judging which will be held every night from December 5 to 8 is led by the City Tourism Office, Giant Lantern Festival 2016 committee and InterVillage Christmas Decor Competition 2016 committee chaired by Maria Luisa Santiago.
The announcement of winners will be on December 17 during the Giant Lantern Festival.
A prize of P20,000 will be given to the first placer while P15,000 and P10,000 will be awarded to the second and third placers, respectively.
