BPI, MoneyGram launches OFW remittance program

MABALACAT CITY – The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), together with MoneyGram internatio­nal remittance firm, implemente­d a program to make it convenient for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to send money to their love ones during the Christmas season.

The BPI’s partnershi­p initiative is aimed at helping OFWs achieve their goals through the righ financial solutions and services.

The program offers BPI’s strength of more than 800 branches and 2,000 automated teller machines (ATMs) nationwide and MoneyGram’s presence in 350,000 locations in more than 200 countries and territorie­s.

BPI Senior Vice President Marie Josephine Ocampo said the partnershi­p brings BP closer to Filipinos around the world. “Our focus is to make the experience of our overseas Filipino remitters simpler and easier by providing these innovative solutions through our partners.”

MoneyGram Country Manager Alex Lim for his part said that “being able to remit practicall­y in real time from over 135 countries and territorie­s

gives customers abroad better and more convenient options to send money to their families here in the Philippine­s.”

By simply opening an account at any BPI branch, families and beneficiar­ies in the Philippine­s can now receive remittance­s sent through MoneyGram on the same day.

The account comes with a debit card that may be accessed anytime through over 2,000 BPI ATMs nationwide free of charge.
