NCCA, PIA holds first Culture and Arts Promotion Campus Tour in CL

The

National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) and Philippine Informatio­n Agency (PIA) recently held the first leg of its campus tour at Potrero National High School in Bacolor town.

The campus tour is a component of the NCCAPIA Culture and Arts Promotion in Central Luzon that aims to inspire the students in promoting the artistry and culture identity of the region.

“Our goal is to preserve, promote and enrich artistry and traditions of the provinces and at the same time promote the various programs of NCCA through these campus tours,” PIA Regional Director William Beltran said.

Anchored on the theme “Ikarangal ang ating Lahi, Kamanahan ay Ipagmalaki”, it featured essay writing, poster making and extemporan­eous speech contests.

Winners in the Essay Writing Contest were Camille Anne Vital (1st), Ranniel James Gutierrez (2nd), and Danica Gonzales (3rd).

Moreover, the top finishers in the Poster Making Contest were Ryan Jay Yusi (1st), Emmalyn Gonzales (2nd), and Mayumi Marquez (3rd).

And lastly, the Extemporan­eous Speech winners were Kyle Pinlac (1st), Syra Mae Dimabuyu (2nd), and Arwin Flores (3rd).

NCCA and PIA will visit four more schools next year in the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bulacan, and Bataan.
