Christmas and the natural high vibes
I hope everyone had a very fantastic Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
With all the relatives opening gifts, cousins cracking jokes, titos and titas saying how much you’ve grown up and you’re so “pretty now,” blah blah, and the like.
Then all of a sudden we woke up and we’re back in our ordinary routine.
We suddenly feel the blues and find it difficult to function normally in our daily rhythm.
Welcome to the most difficult season… the week after Christmas!
It’s a mini-season of limbo, an awkward in-between time.
Some are still running on fumes from the emotional high that the reunions and prezzies brought. Some even try to extend the holiday an extra week.
Others feel remorseful for over-indulging in holiday sweets and are on a weeklong shame fest.
While others are dealing with the frustration of another year gone by, another December 25th come and gone, and an undeniable feeling of emptiness after the last gift is unwrapped.
Yung na bayun paps at bes? Oo. Pati ang palugit na isang araw tapos na!
Well, don’t be too hard on yourself because there is really so much hype and excitement, building up to a single day which can’t always live up to its potential…
When I was a kid, I remember asking my mom, the day after if it’s still Christmas. I used to be upset and didn’t really believe in the concept 365 days of Christmas, because I know it’s just a wishful thinking. Well, after all these years I’ve learned how to deal when the good old-fashioned case of the blues settles in.
Just think of the year ahead. Trying to keep
ing and fulfilling events throughout another year is a good way to calm your current blues.
Think ahead to the changing seasons and the things you’d like to be doing as the year moves on. Doing something about the things we’d like to happen is the first step and once we’re absorbed in planning and doing, we’ll be too busy to fret.
Let’s move on by making the rest of the year, the best of the year! Stay active until our next chat!
