Sex with robots?

A JOKE which has long been floating on the Internet tells us the difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED.

Here it goes. When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE. But, when you marry the wrong woman, you are FI NI SHED.

And when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are “COMPLETELY FINI SHED! ”

*** Drones, which are actually flying robots operated by remote control, have been used to deliver lethal bombs in many anti-terrorist operations and in theaters of war such as in Afghanistan.

An Agence France Presse (AFP) report quoted artificial intelligence expert David Levy as telling the International Congress on Love and Sex with Robots at Goldsmiths, University of London that sex with robots or “sexbots” is “just around the corner.”

There’s no more need to worry about marrying the right or wrong man or woman. You just have to buy a robot of your own choice. But don’t regret if your sex life would one day turn rusty.

*** California, USA-based company Abyss Creations will start marketing next year sex robots that are billed as life-like, with the ability to talk and move like humans. Of course, these sex robots must come with vaginas and penises.

But the talk part is interesting for some husbands whose wives won’t stop yakking, even in bed.

Perhaps they can order a sex robot with an option for volume control or mute function which are not available in humans.

*** Levy, author of “Love and Sex with Robots,” said marriage to robots would be the next logical step as sex with robots becomes more and more commonplace.

He said robots of the future will be “patient, kind, protective, loving,” never “jealous, boastful, arrogant, rude,” all of which qualities and many more are likely to be achievable in software within a few decades.

But what’s next, divorce with robots when they turn cold? Or in the case of the Philippines where there’s no divorce, declaration of nullity of marriage with a robot?
