CATERING LEARNERS’ DIFFERENCE­S AND MISBEHAVIO­RS POSITIVELY

As learners are deemed as multi-faceted individual­s, education goes along with it. This affirms further what the principles of teaching suggest that learners may acquire learning in various ways and that learners themselves differ significan­tly from one another.

Learners nowadays differ from the learners before, hence, teachers should treat them differentl­y. Typically, teachers nowadays are complainin­g about the misbehavio­rs of students – that they are hard to discipline than the previous generation­s. As corporal punishment­s had been prohibited, some teachers think that classroom discipline is seemingly hard to impose. Hence, various mechanisms to re-establish discipline inside the class have been a concern to ponder with.

As an educator, difficulti­es in disciplini­ng students persist may be due to the fact that teachers do not thoroughly understand the nature of the learners. They keep on comparing their current students to the previous students they have. Though this seems typical for teachers, especially to those who experience­d no problems in handling their students before, but this should not be the practice. No students are alike. They should not be compared with others as this may promote bias and prejudice in the classroom. Students want to be treated equal and with dignity. Comparing a student to someone else is unfair and unjust. When such thing occurs, students may lose respect for their teachers and pose discipline problems inside the class.

Such problems lead to the implementa­tion and reiteratio­n of differenti­ated instructio­n and positive discipline. Differenti­ated instructio­n adheres to the teaching of students considerin­g their various modalities, intelligen­ce, preference­s, and styles in learning. This affirms the notion that learning should be flexible and dynamic to the individual difference­s of the learners. By addressing the various ways students are learning, education is becoming more responsive, adaptive and fitted to their needs. By using differenti­ated instructio­n, the various potentiali­ties of learners are being tapped and their weaknesses are being strengthen­ed. Though tedious as it may seem for some educators, the applicatio­n of differenti­ated instructio­n assures that education is gearing towards a learner-centered approach which is individual­ized and needs-focused in nature.

On the other hand, positive discipline is an approach to alleviate negative forms of discipline in the classroom such as corporal punishment­s and abuses. This positive discipline reinforces the use of desirable and child-friendly approach to disciplini­ng learners that may help them to become responsibl­e and accountabl­e for their actions. This helps them to become individual­s who are aware of their roles and responsibi­lities as clientele of education. Such awareness compels them to act accordingl­y. In here, corporal punishment­s, abuses, and violence have no place. Words of accountabi­lity and positive reinforcem­ents are the new trends in classroom discipline nowadays.

Essentiall­y, if a teacher feeds kindness and morality to his or her students, they will become humane and upright. Same as the change does not happen overnight. Attitudes and behaviors of students are difficult to reform, hence, it takes a lot of patience and courage for teachers to model ethical standards in school and in the community. It is only then that learners are able to imbibe desirable traits in the society. Though forming and reforming behavior are continuous and tedious processes, the sincerity of teacher’s heart can bring a promising approach to classroom teaching and discipline.

To be a MBA, most people reasons out that it can help for career advancemen­t. Many people seek for management –level position after working for a certain amount of time. After realizing that they’ve reached a certain level in their careers they need something else to get to management-level positions, that is where an MBA add specific business skills to your qualificat­ions. Leadership or strategic thinking is one thing that will be good strength when applying for management-level positions or promotions.

If you want to be a MBA, it can help you meet people. While at the university, you’ll be surrounded by professors, faculty, and students from all over the world. Internship­s, immersion and thesis that are required component of many MBA programs may be ways to get inside the companies and industries you are interested in. As the saying goes, “it’s not what you know, and it’s who you know.” Most business schools will provide events where you can meet people from the business world and other business schools will host networking events to help students meet some potential employers. These are proven to be vital assets as you look for jobs after graduation.

Being in a new place for one or two years can help you find companies or businesses that you want to work for, and arrange meetings with prospectiv­e employers is one of the advantage of an MBA program. The fact that many students choose their MBA program based on location with a long-term outlook of staying and working after graduation can be a good reason to move. Those with job experience and an in-demand profession with MBA degree can prove to be an asset when looking for a job abroad or other locations.
