BENERANDO T. GARCIA AND PAULINA Q. GARCIA

The 2016 Most Outstandin­g Kapampanga­n Awardee in the Field of Parenthood is couple Benerando Tallada Garcia and his wife - Paulina Quinto Garcia.

The couple Benerando, 84 years old, and Paulina, 90, are both natives of San Francisco, Lubao, Pampanga. They got married on May 11, 1949. They are Catholic faithful who always turn to God at all times of their married life - in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, and for richer and for poorer.

Their faith in God, self-determinat­ion and perseveran­ce guided the couple as responsibl­e and loving parents to their eight children and in providing the latter the good traits, strong faith and love for education as tools for a brighter future.

Their first-born Lorena, graduated from Guagua National College (GNC) as Cum Laude. She was a teacher at Sacred Heart Academy and Saint Augustine Academy of Pampanga. At present, with her husband, they managed a grocery store and they have only one child, a doctor by profession.

Their second child - Edgarda was a graduate of BS Commerce and is now based in the United States of America. She got married and has two children who are both profession­al and successful in life.

The third one is Rosita - a graduate of Midwifery and now a government employee for 38 years. She was recognized as Outstandin­g Midwife in 2007 and has a child who is now a registered nurse. The fourth child is Rebecca who finished high school, a house overseer and living with the couple.

The fifth child is Nardo who graduated Agricultur­e and now staying for good in the USA together with his wife and a child who is now a registered nurse. The sixth one is Eleuterio, a graduate of Mechanical Engineerin­g, has three children - two are working as medical representa­tives and the other one is a DILG employee. The seventh is Rodolfo, a graduate of Veterinary Medicine and currently a barangay captain in Caloocan City. He has four children. The first born is a BS Tourism graduate in UP Diliman, Cum Laude, the second child is a Multi-Media Arts graduate, the third one is studying in high school and the youngest is six years old.

The youngest among the brood of eight is Raymond, who completed his first year college. He is now the village chairman of farmers and runs his own business. He has two children who both excel in Saint Augustine Academy of Pampanga.

At present, the whole family including the daughters and sons in law and grand children are church’s officers. They devote themselves in serving the Almighty in the different church organizati­ons.

Benerando and Paulina were both recipients of various honors and recognitio­ns. They were recognized for Doctrinal, Moral, Liturgical and Spiritual Formation on October 24, 1981; Extra Ordinary Ministers for the Distributi­on of Holy Communion on December 31, 2001 and Familiang Pialimbawa­nan on December 28, 2003; Leadership Seminar on February 2, 2003 and Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary on March 18, 2006.
