Sto. Tomas town inaugurates new police station
STO. TOMAS – Personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) here are set to move in to their new home as local officials and police officers yesterday inaugurated the newly-built municipal police station.
Police Regional Office III Director Aaron Aquino, who led the inauguration rites, said that the P5-million fund used to construct the building was provided by the PNP.
The three-storey facility will house all the local offices of PNP including radio room and logistics office as well as two separate jails for men and women prisoners.
Aquino said that with the new facility awarded to the local station, policemen are expected to perform better and increase their efficiency.
“Kapag may ganitong bagong gamit ang kapulisan, siyempre nakakadagdag sa morale natin yan and it is expected na mai-translate nila yung high morale na iyon into high quality of performance also,” he said.
Meanwhile, this town’s police chief Major Romwald Basa expressed his gratitude to the their organization for providing such facility to their station.
He vowed to double the efforts of local police in maintaining peace and order in the town, particularly in eradicating illegal drugs her e.
Mayor Johnny Sambo, for his part, vowed to help the police force in filling the new building with needed materials.
He added that as local chief executive, he will also do his part in ensuring the peace and order in the town for the benefit of Tomasi ans.
