Endow the Future Generations

-

JODYLYN M. SAMONTE People commit actions for an antecedent. We consume because we are starving, we giggle because we find something comical, we cry because we feel frustrated; all of the human actions are prompted by causes itself. Economics is the same.

As an economics teacher, I deem that my teaching is not an obligation or professsion, but it is more of a moral responsibility. By teaching this subject area to the future citizens of our nation, we are drawing a better future for the next generations. All of those are because we are able to teach them how to avoid scarcity, why we need to supply, why we need demands. We are able to instruct them that not everything you want could be attained by just one click, rather, we need to trade something to get another entity with the same worth.

In all words shortened, we are teaching students to be responsible and resourceful. Economics teaches them that too much is bad. Aside from that, it trains the students for their outlook of finding a source of income to satisfy their demands. Decision-making is one of the core factors that economics would cultivate greatly, if we were to speak generally, example of this could be the method that we will use in order to cut our budget deficit; which is vitally essential in our life so that we wouldn’t be drowned in debts.

Economics also teaches students to be informed in the fact-paced changing world. The world is not constant, it is always changing alongside with its growing and more-maturing content and environment. Economically speaking, due to weather, prices of the things that we need tends to change over time. Chicken breasts might cost you a moderate part of your budget, but tomorrow, that could change. The President might decide to heighten the taxes due to certain circumstances. The jeepney fare might increase by a peso tomorrow if the student might find a way of transportation to school.

Through this subject area, students are taught to be financially-aware. In a young age, they are already learning how to budget their monthly allowance in order for them to not be short. This knowledge is extremely vital, not only to students but also to what citizens they would grow into when the time comes.

What’s not in the mind of so many is that Economics teaches one to be virtuous. By knowing that everyone is working hard to achieve and satisfy their demands, no one would dare to steal or do crimes. It enforces good citizenship and harmonious relationship with each citizens in one nation. It also teaches that education is one of the main core aspects that we need to achieve in life.

Without economics, life would be really hard and poverty would not be solved. Governments would seize to exist and every country would live under competition even in the 21st century. People would steal from other people just so to satisfy their demands. So, while we have economics under hand, we must do our best to prepare our next generation to keep stand against poverty and crimes.
