Local execs convey support to Duterte
ANGELES CITY — Local executives in the entire country belonging to the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines Incorporated (ULAP) have expressed support to President Duterte in connection with the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao.
In their manifesto, the ULAP members stated that ULAP strongly condemns the terrorist attacks by the Maute Group which affected several communities in Mindanao.
The statement of support was signed by Governor Al Francis C. Bichara, ULAP President; Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, ULAP executive vice president; Governor Ryan Luis Singson, ULAP chairman;
Vice Governor Antonio Albano, ULAP vice chairman; and Vice Mayor Donnabel Joy Mejia, ULAP vice president for Mindanao.
ULAP is an umbrella organization of all local government units and locally-elected and appointed officials.
“We sympathize with the leaders and local government units as these terrorist acts instil fear and uncertainty to the people they lead and serve. These have caused chaos and distraught calling for nationwide vigilance and empathy,” the ULAP officers and members st at ed.
“We, in the local government, deem it important to be unified and to work hand-inhand to overcome this national threat,” they added.
The ULAP also expressed support to President Duterte’s declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao. “We are one with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on his declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao consistent with his constitutional mandate to ensure peace and order.”
