APRIL JOYCE B. MALLARI

“Winners are not afraid of losing but losers are” This is just one of the favourite quote from Robert T. Kiyosaki that can be apply in teaching profession. Winner teacher embodies everything as afacilitator, moderator, molder, counsellor and acts as the second parent for every student.

There are many problems teacher encounter in the four corners of the classroom and one of them is misbehaviour.

Never judge a student right away because he/ she is showing bad attitude in your class. But instead ask or assess first what the reason of misbehaviour. There are many causes of students misbehaviour like adverse family circumstances, peer influence, classroom demands of expectations, requires attention. Giving up on them just because you are tired disciplining their bad behaviour is not the key to transform them.

If we gave up on them who else can believe and trust that they will become successful in the future. If we concede to their abilities who else can improve it. If we teachers pull them down who else can elevate them to the top. We need to believe that they can prosper.

And I believe that this kind of students can also be successful in their chosen career someday. They are the kind of students that I appreciate a lot when they listen and most importantly if they start trusting you.

Invest time and patience to them to find their own light.Risk taker is one of my favourite of the manyfaces of teachers.

They are thekind of teachers that trust students despite of their mistakes and shortcomings.Who can invest her time, energy and knowledge to produce competitive students. Who doesn’t know the word failure.

Who is not afraid to innovate and improve to give the needs of their students.Winner teachers don’t depend on books alone but rather teaches from the heart. She is not afraid of handling diverse students.

She has that aura of positivity and good vibes. She stands strong and pick up herself despite of problems encountered. She is willing to listen to the never ending dramas and dilemma of her students.

She is a counsellor that solves and gives advices. She doesn’t criticize or degrade students but rather inspire them. She is a teacher that has a full understanding about the needs of her learners.

Who is willing to help without expecting anything in return. The real essence of becoming a teacher is to appreciate student’s talents and skills, to help them grow and shine in their own ways.

Winner teachers are the kind of teachers that well appreciated by learners. She is loved and appreciated on the little things she did for herstudents. And even learners already graduated, have a work and got their own family, they still remember her. She is not perfect but learners will not forget her.

Like what they say teaching is not confine in books and in the four walls of the classroombut how you transform and touch student’slives forever.
