Samuel’s passion for prayer

PLEASE take note of Samuel’s use of the words “As for me”… it is important to highlight that Samuel was stating a personal testimony about his passion for prayer… meaning, he was stating a personal experience… not a ram down-your-throat-order. This will help us see, and hopefully, help us accept that when it comes to spirituality, especially in the area of spiritual transformation, no one can manage it except the Lord. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit of God to do the conviction and convincing before a person finally takes prayer seriously. At this point it would be safe to say that we all are in our proper places. We are responders to whatever God ignites.
Prayer is something God must stir in our hearts before we can really pray. Samuel’s passion for prayer was a result of a God-stirred heart. Expanding the thought a little bit wider; a church can only respond to pray when God stirs the heart of His flock. It is not gimmick or strategy… it is freshfi r e-sent -fr om-Above!
How truly worthy of spiritual envy is a person or a church that is stirred by God to pray! God’s conviction of our Prayerlessness is actually a timely and timeless grace inviting us to draw near to Him. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad when you still feel the stirring of the Almighty. Samuel’s prayer life came alive only when he responded to God’s stirring… when he submitted himself to God upon entering this new world of prayer.
Why do people not pray today? Is it because God has not stirred their hearts, or, God did stir their hearts but they did not respond. You see, prayer in itself is an invitation for us to pray… it is not, by any means, a matter so alien to our senses that we end up discussing about it and not doing it! There is a difference between talking about God and really talking to God. So much has been said about the importance of Prayer yet so few are actually taking it seriously. I write this not to stir guilt but to state a reality. The issue of Prayer is not settled in a debate, it is settled the only way a heart issue is settled… where God stirs and we respond. Again, how blessed is a heart which is still stirred by God to pray. How doubly blessed when we respond to God, not anymore discussing prayer, but instead, we look for a quiet place, or connect to a praying community and really pray!
This article about prayer is totally useless unless God uses it as a vehicle to stir hearts to pray. As Samuel declared… ”As for me”… may you and I, by the stirring of God, responding freely, say the same. Thanks for reading, I always write from my heart. Oh Lord, stir us to pray .... AMEN

5. kapayapan – (palagyu) kabilyang payapa o mapayapa, taimik, karatunan, kelang kagulwan. English – peace. Alimbawa king pamangamit: “Balang memalen alang bisang kaligaligan at alingasngas?pane mung kapayapan ing karelang pagnasan.”
*** PAMANGAPAMPANGAN: Ating kasebyan a mangabaldugang “suplada” o “pasumpung-sumpung kasungitan at awsan da lang— “malangi paritan. Nung malangi ya pin naman ing paritan e ya sindi uling ala yang laru o gas. Keng dapat ning tau, buri nang sabyan detang nung pakisabyan mu la o atwan mu la ing iyablas da kasungitan. Atin lang toyu o topak ngara pin deng aliwa. Atin atang antita taganang tau lakwas na kareng dalagang matwa o matwang baintau. Balamu masosora la parati keng bye ra. Alimbawa: “Alang bisang makiyutus kang Biring uling parati n’ya mung makasimangut at malangi paritan.”
